Xperia Z, with a side of bezels

Thanks to a wealth of pre-release leaks, there’s not much we haven’t seen of the Sony Xperia Z1 (or “Honami”) at this point. But now there’s an official-looking render of the device to confirm what we’ve been seeing for the past few months — a phone very similar in design to the older Xperia Z, complete with hefty bezels.

The image from Chinese forum Digi-Wo shows the Z1 in the standard Sony tricolore — black, white and purple — the same colors used by the Xperia Z and Xperia Z Ultra. The back of the purple device shows off one of the Z1’s most talked-about features, its 20-megapixel rear camera with Sony G Lens. On the inside, the Xperia Z1 is rumored to pack similar hardware to the Z Ultra — a Snapdragon 800 CPU, 2 GB of RAM and microSD expandability.

We’re expecting to see the Xperia Z1 unveiled at Sony’s big pre-IFA press conference on Sept. 4, and we’ll be live from Berlin to bring you full coverage of the phone.

Earlier this week, images that were purportedly of Samsung’s (005930) upcoming Galaxy Note 8.0 tablet leaked onto the Web. The slate looked like an oversized Galaxy S III smartphone and included the company’s physical home button, which had perviously been omitted from earlier Galaxy tablets. French blog Frandroid posted additional images of the tablet on Friday that confirmed it will include an S-Pen stylus, similar to the Galaxy Note II and Galaxy Note 10.1.Image

The Galaxy Note 8.0 is rumored to be equipped with a 1280 x 800 pixel resolution display, 1.6GHz quad-core processor and a 5-megapixel rear camera. The slate is also believed to include 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, a microSD slot and Android 4.2.

The long, painful wait will soon be over. Sony (SNE) on Thursday evening circulated invitations to the press and bloggers for a press conference in New York City on February 20th. The company did not reveal any details, but it did confirm that we will “see the future” of PlayStation in a teaser video released alongside the invitations. Needless to say, we’re all expecting the company to unveil its next-generation PlayStation 4 video game console during the event, and multiple unnamed sources have reportedly confirmed as much to The Wall Street Journal. Recent rumors suggest the new PlayStation may launch in October with 16GB of RAM, 256GB of storage and 1080p HD resolution in 3D at 60 fps. We of SamMobile just received a huge tip from our insider at Samsung and according to him this is the next generation of the Galaxy S series, the Galaxy S IV. We can’t 100% confirm if this is indeed the Galaxy S IV but the picture he sent us looks really sharp and doesn’t look fake at all. The design of the device looks also very similar to the design of the Galaxy S III and the Galaxy Premier, which makes this picture more authentic.

By looking at the picture of the device we observed a few things, the device will use on-screen buttons as there is no home-button present on the device (Finally), the bezel around the device is much thinner and the device features a large display.

We didn’t get any confirmation on the specifications of the Galaxy S IV but the rumoured specifications are listed below:
– Exynos 5450 Quad-Core CPU clocked at 2.0GHz
Mali-T658 GPU
– 2GB of RAM
– 4.99” SuperAMOLED FULL HD resolution (1080×1920) Display
– 13 Megapixel Rear Facing Camera
– 2 Megapixel Front Facing Camera
– Android 4.2.1 (Out of the box)

Reaction **YDD**:
– Source claimed to have more pictures.
– It’s hard to believe.
– Mix between Galaxy S III / Galaxy Premier could make this render (press photo) looks real.
– Before the official presentation by Samsung is nothing 100% sure.
